Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate, AACK! Lisa's Chocolate Stout is traditionally a Valentine's Day staple at the brewery, but we just couldn't wait any longer to share the latest barrel-aged version with the world. We aged our 2021 batch of Lisa's in a Blanton's bourbon barrel and the result is a full-bodied beer with intense chocolate, coffee and dark malt flavors that are intensified by the additional notes of vanilla and bourbon from extended barrel aging. Often the flavor profile of a chocolate stout is achieved by malt selection and cocoa nibs, but in the case of Lisa's, we add Theo Chocolate's milk and dark chocolate in the boil. Columbus hops give Lisa's a subtle earthiness and oats provide the creamy texture.
