    Darn tasty Porter.

    For beer lovers

Brewed for our friends at the 9 Pound Hammer here in Georgetown, this is an exceptionally flavorful medium bodied porter. We use tons of Chocolate, Munich, and Roasted Malt, then blend it with Centennial and Northern Brewer hops to create what we like to call Roasted Chocolaty Goodness. Mmm.. porter. Buy it by the pint at the Nine Pound Hammer or come on in to our retail shop for growlers to go!

    Darn tasty India Pale Lager

    For beer lovers

Originally brewed as a last minute add to the brew schedule when some fresh Mosaic hops fell in our laps, we decided to give it another go, but without the fresh hops this time. Brewing the beer as a lager gives the beer a crisp character, brightening the passionfruit and stone fruit aromas from the Mosaic hops, but still delivering the citrus flavors and upfront bitterness of an IPA.

  • Arguably, one of our most important and popular brews, Bob's Brown Ale is brewed once a year and released every May 14th (Bob's birthday). 100% of the proceeds from Bob's are donated in honor of Charles "Bob" Hirsch to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska to provide a "home away from home" for Children's Hospital patients and families. It's big, it's brown. And it's got lots of hops. ABV 6.2% half gallon fill $13.

Because of your generous support, we have raised a lot of money for the Ronald McDonald House. Thank you.

    Darn tasty Beer Church ale

    For beer lovers

Using a technique called "Hop Bursting", when the standard bittering hop addition is completely omitted, all the bitterness comes from late additions of high alpha hops. An experimental hop variety (HBC 366) went into the brew along with Simcoe, Cascade, and Bravo. The result is a slightly bready beer with spicy citrus, passionfruit, grass, and starfruit aromas and flavors. Brewed in conjunction with Beer Church, the hops and malt were donated with proceeds benefitting the local chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America.

    Darn tasty Mexican Lager

    For beer lovers

The brewers had a little fun with this Mexican-style lager, brewing sort of a micro-macro with 6 Row malt and corn to get the light lager style juuuust right. Brewer Milo also chose Liberty hops, not just a symbolic gesture in name, but it’s an American cousin to German Hallertau hops, so it’s also a nod to the history of German immigrants bringing their brewing style to Mexico. An easy drinking, very light, crisp lager with a slightly sweet and grainy backbone. Minimal doses of Liberty hops round our the beer with a clean, citrus appeal. El Niño, it’s Spanish for "The Niño".

    Darn tasty Imperial Russian Stout.

    For beer lovers

Many versions of strong dark stouts have come and gone throughout the centuries, but the Russian Imperial Stout has been the style of choice since the 18th Century for those who appreciate rich, complex dark ales. Our version, Oharov, was brewed to be true to the style - a drinkable ebony brew, warming the frigid days like a ray of black sunshine. Loaded with caramel, chocolate and roasted coffee flavors, Oharov's bold aggressiveness quickly finishes smooth, dry, and crisp.

Brewing it as a lager gives the beer a crisper character, brightening the passionfruit and guava aromas, but still delivering complex flavors and bitterness you'd expect from an IPA.

    Darn tasty Oktoberfest.

    For beer lovers

While Oktoberfest beers have been trending lighter over the years, Tom brewed this beer to be closer to the original Oktoberfest style. A malt forward lager with caramel and toasted malt flavors, Tomtoberfest is highly carbonated and effervescent with sweet aroma but a dry finish. Light hop aroma and flavor add to the crispness of the beer without inhibiting the malt profile.

    Darn tasty Baltic Porter

    For beer lovers

In 2011, our friend Toby Willis started Independence Guide Dogs, an organization that serves to increase independence for blind individuals by placing guide dogs free of charge. When last year’s small batch of Baltic Porter was released, it was around the same time of International Guide Dog Day and Toby’s annual fundraiser, so we decided to name it in honor of Toby's own guide dog, Zakai. Zakai Baltic Pawter is rich and malty with hints of dark fruits, molasses and chocolate and a warming alcohol presence. Full bodied, it starts slightly sweet with a crisp clean finish.
